Making Paper Swans
So, why not? Kyle brought in official Origami paper and gave it a whirl.
As always with something new, the kids circled around Kyle asking him what Origami was. Kyle had prepared an example swan and showed them, explaining that they could all make their own. Immediately, the kids were intrigued and picked out their favorite color paper. While one girl got stuck on the fact that her pink paper was a different shade than another's, everyone else was ready to go. It was great to see a group of Quest's kids eager to know the next step.
With some adult assistance now and then, the kids successfully accomplished the task. Origami is just another example of volunteers creating opportunities for Quest's kids.
